Uncommon Named Towns, Duck, North Carolina I have created this paper to lure you to the Town of Duck in the North Carolina Outer Banks. The small town is very elegant, and naturally beautiful. With a small population of five hundred-twenty people you will never feel crowded. Everything in Duck is accesible by your feet. From the large, air-conditioned, shopping mall, to the beach. You can walk up and down the beach, or on the trails. From your beautiful rental house to the coffee shop. Everything is accesible by your feet. The park is placed right beside the beach. With a large gazebo, a dog park, and within easy access of the beach the park is wonderful. There are concert's held in the park almost everynight during the summer. Perfect for a birthday party ffor the kids, or a romantic pic-nic. Some of the activities are in-doors, such as childrens reading circles at the library,and , book clubs held at the locally owned book store or coffe shop. All other activities are out-of-doors. From trails to swimming to bike riding, kayaking. There are many other out side activities you may be interested in. All stores, shops, and restruants are locally owned. The coffee shop is “the Place to be on any rainy day. The shoppin center full of gist shops, women apperal stores, jewelery store, toy stores, etc. are all locally owned by residents of duck. The book store is full of wonderful books for the book club your gonna join when you go home, or while your still here. The history of Duck is very simple. It used to be a small portion of another town in the early 1900's. It was not considered it's own town. In the mid-1900's the park was added, and what a wonderful addition it was. Now we reach the 2000, on May 1, 2002 Duck was officially a town in Dare County. Today (Jan. 2012.) Duck is the most family loved town in the Outer Banks. Most activities are out side. You will find something everyone wants to do. Weither it's kayaking, swimming, shopping, reading, biking, or walking or maybe you just want to look at the natural beauty. Whatever it may be it's here in Duck, North Carolina. Come find your paradise.
